W. W. Grainger
I served as a Content Analyst (Contractor) on Grainger’s Hierarchy and Merchandising team, supporting the ecommerce and catalog programs. I was part of a team that maintained and improved product content for the more than 1.6 million items Grainger sells online and in stores. My team was tasked with developing and implementing rules improving data integrity such as normalizing existing data, analyzing search frequency and building lists of approved values for product attributes.
This was an unglamorous, but incredibly important, step of the process of maintaining a best-in-class ecommerce experience for your customers. As part of the Hierarchy and Merchandising team I was assigned segments of specific product lines, often containing as many as 10,000 individual product SKUs. I analyzed the existing data and made recommendations for aligning it to the ideal state envisioned by an interdepartmental panel of internal experts.

Woodland Foods
As a Content Manager at Woodland Foods I managed the creation of the product descriptions that appeared on our website and in printed sales materials. My efforts had a direct impact on all the ways we presented Woodland Foods products to our customers and the public including web content, social media channels, email marketing, catalog content, product descriptions, sales presentations and product specification documentation.

I led a team of people who developed engaging content featuring the 1,600+ ingredients sourced from all over the world that we supplied to food manufacturers, restaurants and food service operations as well as food retailers who sold our products to consumers.
